Our Management Committee Members: 2026-27

 

Suzanne Uprichard (Committee Chair)

Main skills/experience: Long-standing experienced governor in Secondary maintained and academies, Primary maintained and academies, Church of England and Community Schools. 
Deliver training, undertake External Reviews of Governance, chair interim Executive Boards. Sit on complaints, HR, recruitment, school admission appeals panels. 

Key responsibilities on the Committee:

Member of both the Quality of Education and Finance, Personnel and Premises committees. 
A bit about me: Long background in the NHS, both in the management in primary care and in the health authority and its subsequent iteration. I led Clinical Governance for a long time, hence becoming a school governor. 
I am asked to join the governing board when they have asked the Governor Support Service to support with governance for many years and leave when the governing board has understood its role and responsibilities fully. 
I was a member of the Leicester Cathedral Finance Committee for a maximum of three terms (11 years in total), a member of the Cathedral Capital Committee, a grant-giving body for churches in need of capital works, and the national Cathedral Peer Review group which undertook reviews of Cathedrals and their operation, an objective and support review where I took the lead on governance. 

Beth Clements

Main skills/experience: Ex secondary school curriculum lead, senior leader.

A bit about me: I’m a Head of Service in the Education Department at Leicestershire County Council. My work centres around inclusion in education through supporting schools, children and young people and their families.
One thing I love about Oakfield School: It gives children and young people the chance to find their strengths and gives them the opportunity to shine.

Adam Wheldon

Main skills/experience: Mentoring, behaviour management, de-escalation, restorative work with children and young people. Working across multiple regions and settings; primary, secondary, SEN, alternative education.

Key responsibilities on the Committee:

Staff representative for Oakfield Short Stay School (Secondary).

A bit about me: Married dad to two daughters. Community football club leader for ages 17 - 68 year olds. Keen runner and going to music concerts. Author of two self-published books.
One thing I love about Oakfield School: The opportunity to work with a student that is dejected and disaffected and turning it into something positive which they enjoy and can gain from to help their future.

Julie-Ann Biddles 

Main skills/experience: Consultant SENCo and Interim School Leader. 

Key responsibilities on the Committee:

Anti-bullying. 
A bit about me: I am very passionate about inclusion and have worked in SEND Education for 33 years.
