Cedar class block has now become Maple class.
In Maple class this term, we have been focusing on our social skills and developing our emotional wellbeing. This has been achieved through team building games, regular sensory circuits, as well as yoga and meditation exercises. We have also been learning about healthy foods, trying to push ourselves out of our comforts zones to try new things! We have enjoyed making Eid vegetable pakoras, beetroot brownies, tomato bruschetta, croque monsieur and fruit scones. In English this term we have finished learning about the novel Skellig, and we are proud of our Year 6 boys who completed their SATs papers! What a great achievement. During our maths sessions, we have been deepening our understanding of angles and properties of shapes. Finally, let us not forget our experience at Beaumanor Hall, some of us still haven’t recovered from the lack of sleep… thanks children!
The pupils are all doing 'Read, Write, inc. or Fresh Start. This includes phonics, handwriting, reading and writing.
In maths, pupils will be working using 'White Rose' and Abacus resources. https://whiterosemaths.com
